Public Health employees celebrated a weeklong spotlight on their work on April 1 - 7. Each day of the week focused on a different aspect of service related to public health.   

Mecklenburg County Public Health Director Dr. Raynard Washington is the new chair for Big Cities Health Coalition (BCHC), a national forum of leaders from 35 of the country’s largest health departments. 

Mecklenburg County Asset and Facility Management  is hosting an event on Friday, April 26, to inform contractors, architects, designers and engineers about being a construction vendor for the County.

Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte have jointly proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, which recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Mecklenburg County would like residents’ participation in the review of the draft 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

The RFQ period will be open from April 1 - 30, 2024.

Approximately 40,350 Mecklenburg County property owners who have delinquent 2023 real and personal property tax bills will have their names and the principal amount they owe published, as required by state law, in The Charlotte Observer, on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Bills paid after Feb. 29, 2024, may be included in the advertisement. 

A pillar of Mecklenburg County government and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community has died. Former County Manager Gerald G. “Jerry” Fox passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the age of 91.
