Reedy Creek Nature Center, located within the 927-acre Reedy Creek Nature Preserve in north Charlotte, offers a variety of educational programs for all ages. The nature center features live, native animals, an exhibit hall, a classroom, a gift shop and the Dr. James F. Matthews Center for Biodiversity Studies.

Quest Nature Center, located within the 1,460-acre Latta Nature Preserve in Huntersville, operates as a partnership between Park and Recreation and the Carolina Raptor Center. The nature center offers educational programs for all ages and features live, native animals, a 3,000- square foot interactive exhibit hall including a 6,000-gallon aquarium, classrooms, conference rooms, rentable space and the Raptor Center's gift shop.
