The Office of Health Equity works with diverse multisector partners to improve health equity and reduce health-related disparities.

Aims to reduce violence in Mecklenburg County by collaborating with County, City, partners, and community to increase opportunity and build healthier, more resilient communities.

Develops integrated procurement strategies, aligned with County department needs for goods, services and technology.

Cultivates a collaborative environment to better align community health worker program initiatives in Mecklenburg County through the assembly of stakeholders that are deeply invested in the profession.

Investigates animal-inflicted injuries to humans and/or their pets (e.g., bites, scratches), provides consultative services to the public and medical community regarding zoonotic diseases and rabies exposures, and works closely with Animal Care and Control of Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius, and Matthews. Gives parents the practical skills they need to build strong family relationships, manage and prevent misbehavior problems.

Provides comprehensive family planning and reproductive health services.

Increasing and improving the number of tobacco-free environments and preventing youth tobacco use.

Providing prevention education, testing, and treatment services for Mecklenburg County.

Supports communities in creating opportunities for children to increase their daily physical activity by safely walking, biking, and rolling to, from, or at school!
