Public Hearing For Hunters Chapel United Methodist Church

The public will take notice that the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing on the question of designating as a historic landmark the property known as the “Hunters Chapel United Methodist Church” as set forth below to be conducted during the Commission’s regularly scheduled meeting at 6:00 p.m. on the 9th day of June, 2025, via a virtual meeting format. The hearing will allow the public to comment on the potential historic landmark designation of the “Hunters Chapel United Methodist Church,” listed under Tax Parcel Identification Number 00184138, and including the exterior of the building, the interior of the original building, the cemetery, and the approximately 2.42 acres of land listed under Tax Parcel Number 00184138 in the Mecklenburg County Tax Office. Said property is owned by Hunters Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church and is located at 18423 John Connor Road, Cornelius, North Carolina. Such designation would be pursuant to Chapter 160D, Article 9, as amended, of the General Statutes of North Carolina.

This Historic Landmarks Commission serves to protect historical properties in Mecklenburg County.
